Ronald McDonald House - Tennis Carnivale

Each year, Canberra School of Tennis and Weston Creek Tennis Club proudly host Tennis Carnivale at Weston Creek Tennis Club—a vibrant community event with a purpose.

This much-anticipated gathering raises essential funds for Ronald McDonald House Canberra, a charity that Canberra School of Tennis has supported for over a decade. It’s a fantastic opportunity for locals to come together, enjoy a day of tennis and entertainment, and contribute to a meaningful cause.

Canberra School of Tennis and its dedicated coaches have championed Ronald McDonald House Charities, organizing events that have collectively raised over $40,000. One of these initiatives included hosting a Meals from the Heart dinner at Ronald McDonald House Canberra, allowing staff to gain a deeper understanding of the charity’s impact and the families it supports.

Canberra’s first Ronald McDonald House serves as a vital “home away from home” for families with seriously ill children receiving treatment at Canberra Hospital. With 11 guest rooms featuring ensuites, a communal kitchen, lounge, dining area, playroom, and laundry facilities, the House offers a space of comfort, care, and much-needed respite during challenging times.

Tennis Carnivale has thrived for over a decade, with standout moments in the past four years including two 24-hour cardio tennis challenges, an appearance by Canberra’s own Nick Kyrgios, and a remarkable turnout of around 5,000 attendees. This year’s event promises an exciting lineup, showcasing Canberra School of Tennis’ full range of coaching programs—including Tennis Australia’s Hot Shots program, Cardio Tennis, racquet demonstrations, and a speed-serving competition. Families can also enjoy a variety of entertainment, from a jumping castle and face painting to a BBQ, raffle, and live music.

All funds raised during the event will directly support Ronald McDonald House Canberra.
